The University of Piraeus Research Center (UPRC) has as its primary purpose to meet the needs of primary & secondary education, adult learning organisations as well as the enterprises and organizations of the private and public sector on subjects concerning designing, programming and effective control of elearning and in general net-centric systems. In this project, the UPRC will be represented by faculty members and researchers who are affiliated to the Department of Technology Education and Digital Systems. They have a lot of experience in the design and delivery of elearning systems as well as teacher training programmes about the use of e-learning technologies in schools. The department offers a MSc programme on elearning. The researchers who will get involved in the project belong to the CoSyLlab research group. All of them and especially Dr S. Retalis, have been actively involved in standardisation committees on learning technologies such as the IEEE LTSC. They also have a lot of experience on running several EU funded projects on teacher training and innovative uses of ICT in schools. UPRC has successfully completed a IST FP7 R&D project which concerned the creation of technology enhanced learning strategies and tools for fostering creativity & innovation.
